Jordan's first foray into martial arts was as a teenager, when he spent two years studying Judo in his hometown of Queens, New York. Jordan left for college in upstate NY where he attended Binghamton University and gained a bachelor's degree, dual majoring in Psychology and Cinema. He then spent time working and traveling, briefly residing in Tel Aviv, Israel, Portland, Oregon, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Salt Lake City, Utah, Athens, Greece and then finally landing in Chicago in 2004.

In 2009, at the age of 32, Jordan sought out Sifu Torres, specifically desiring a traditional martial art for mental clarity, self-defense, and general well-being. Jordan achieved Man of Arrival in 2018 and continues to teach and train in Seven Star Praying Mantis, Wu Tai Chi Chuan, and Eagle Claw under Sifu Torres, while also working professionally as a video engineer for the visual effects production field.
